چکیده

This paper proposes a method of extracting the desired signal from a noisy signal. This method solves the problem of segregating two acoustic sources by using constraints related to the four regularities proposed by Bregman and by making two improvements to our previously proposed method. One is to incorporate a method of estimating the fundamental frequency using the Comb ltering on the lterbank. The other is to reconsider the constraints on the separation block, which constrain the instantaneous amplitude, input phase, and fundamental frequency of the desired signal. Simulations performed to segregate a vowel from a noisy vowel and to compare the results of using all or only some constraints showed that our improved method can segregate real speech precisely using all the constraints related to the four regularities and that the absence some constraints reduces the accuracy.

Comparative Analysis of Wavelet-based Feature Extraction for Intramuscular EMG Signal Decomposition

Background: Electromyographic (EMG) signal decomposition is the process by which an EMG signal is decomposed into its constituent motor unit potential trains (MUPTs). A major step in EMG decomposition is feature extraction in which each detected motor unit potential (MUP) is represented by a feature vector. As with any other pattern recognition system, feature extraction has a significant impac...

SNR-based mask compensation for computational auditory scene analysis applied to speech recognition in a car environment

In this paper, we propose a computational auditory scene analysis (CASA)–based front–end for two–microphone speech recognition in a car environment. One of the important issues associated with CASA is the accurate estimation of mask information for target speech separation within multiple microphone noisy speech. For such a task, the time–frequency mask information is compensated through the si...

Denoising of Auditory Brainstem Response using Diffusion and Wavelet Transform

Evoked Potentials are event-related activities that occurred as an electrical response from the brain to different sensory stimulations of nervous tissues. In this paper, auditory evoked potentials (AEP) brain responses were collected and examined. The data collection was done twice with three different levels of sound and frequencies. The auditory brain response data was extracted from the noi...

Single Channel Speech Enhancement Using Ideal Binary Mask Technique Based on Computational Auditory Scene Analysis

Single channel speech enhancement is necessary where the multichannel speech enhancement is not feasible due to space constraints in the intended device and cost-effectiveness. However, the problem of having limited information from single channel sound signal mixtures or unavailability of the speech source signals makes it more difficult to separate the target speech from the background masker...
